The Committee examined key monetary and financial developments across GCC economies and assessed ongoing and upcoming initiatives under the joint central banking work programme. Members also discussed opportunities to expand international cooperation in monetary and banking affairs, drawing on international experience and established global best practices.
The meeting further reviewed the latest progress on the agreement aimed at connecting payment systems across GCC countries, supporting greater integration and efficiency in regional payments.
Members also considered recommendations submitted by technical committees and working groups covering banking supervision and regulation, payment systems and cybersecurity. In addition, they reviewed GCC countries’ efforts to strengthen anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) frameworks, supporting more resilient financial systems across the region.
