Dubai Flight Delays Continue as Regional Routes Face Schedule Disruptions

Dubai flight delays continued on Monday, September 28, with several inbound services operated by flydubai, Emirates and Etihad arriving later than scheduled.

The morning disruption was primarily affecting inbound services from Central Asia, Russia and London. Dubai departures were largely operating according to schedule at around 8am, while operations at Zayed International Airport (AUH) remained broadly normal during the same period.

Dubai Airports data showed flydubai flights from Almaty and Tashkent arriving 52 minutes and 64 minutes behind schedule respectively. The Almaty service was scheduled to land at 7.30am, while the Tashkent flight was due at 7.20am.

A further flydubai service from Dushanbe was rescheduled from its planned 7.50am arrival to 9.07am, resulting in a 77-minute delay.

Central Asian and Russian routes continue to face delays

Inbound flights from Russia and Central Asia continued to experience scheduling disruptions during Monday’s first arrival period.

Flydubai services from Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Bishkek were also among the inbound flights affected by delays during the morning.

Flight tracking data showed FZ980 from Yekaterinburg arriving in Dubai at 8.32am, compared with its scheduled arrival of 7.55am, resulting in a 37-minute delay.

The Moscow Vnukovo service EK2176, operated by flydubai under a codeshare arrangement, had an updated Dubai arrival time of 8.10am against its scheduled 7.40am arrival. Tracking data showed the aircraft departed Moscow at 12.25am, 10 minutes later than its scheduled 12.15am departure.

Central Asian routes were also responsible for several of Sunday’s longer delays, potentially affecting aircraft rotations into Dubai’s Monday morning arrival schedule.

Dubai’s hub model means delays to inbound aircraft can have a knock-on effect on subsequent departures following turnaround. Aircraft rotation times therefore remain an important factor as carriers work to restore schedules following disruption.
