Dubai Flights Cancelled Until December as Airline Extends Suspension
Cathay Pacific has cancelled passenger flights to Dubai and Riyadh through November 30, as disruptions to international airline services across the Middle East continue.
The airline is waiving rebooking, rerouting and refund fees for eligible existing bookings, while affected passengers can choose new travel dates through March 31, 2027.
Cathay Pacific confirmed the extended cancellations in a passenger update issued on September 4.
Passengers holding eligible bookings involving Dubai, Riyadh or Doha can make changes under flexible ticket conditions introduced by the airline.
The arrangements cover eligible tickets issued on or before September 4, 2026, with original departure dates between September 4 and December 31, 2026.

Tickets must be changed by December 31, 2026, while new journeys must be completed by March 31, 2027. New travel dates remain subject to seat availability.
Cathay Pacific said it continues to waive rebooking, rerouting and refund fees for existing bookings following the cancellation of passenger flights to Dubai and Riyadh.
Passengers making a new booking will still have to pay any difference in fares or taxes between their original and revised itineraries.
For tickets to or from Dubai or Riyadh, the journey must be booked on a Cathay Pacific-operated flight to qualify for the flexible arrangements.
For Doha, tickets must have been issued by Cathay Pacific and booked on a Cathay Pacific-marketed flight. The policy does not cover tickets that have already been fully or partially refunded.
Eligible passengers can select new travel dates through March 31, 2027, subject to seat availability.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi Flights Face Wider Disruption
Cathay Pacific’s extended cancellations come as other international airlines continue to revise their UAE and wider Middle East schedules.
Lufthansa has suspended flights to Dubai through October 24, while its Frankfurt-Riyadh service is scheduled to resume on September 10.
Lufthansa Group airlines Eurowings and SWISS have also suspended Dubai services, with Eurowings planning to resume flights to the emirate from November 1.
Abu Dhabi has also been hit by the disruption. Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Edelweiss have suspended flights to and from the UAE capital through October 24, while Eurowings services to Abu Dhabi are also suspended until then.
Lufthansa has additionally suspended routes including Muscat, Beirut and Dammam, while services to Tehran remain grounded through October 31.
Austrian Airlines is scheduled to resume its Amman service on October 2, followed by Lufthansa’s Frankfurt-Amman route on October 25.
Luxair has meanwhile delayed the launch of its Abu Dhabi service until next year, citing the ongoing regional disruption.
