Nakheel Awards $218M Contract for Dubai Islands Project

Nakheel has appointed Metac General Contracting Company to construct a major new development at Dubai Islands.

The contract for Bay Grove Residences is worth $213 million (AED 800 million), with the project scheduled for completion in 2028.

Metac has been appointed to deliver Phases 1 and 3 of the residential development at Dubai Islands.

Once completed, Bay Grove Residences will feature 537 homes across the two phases.

Nakheel said Phase 1 will include 296 homes across four buildings, while Phase 3 will comprise 241 homes across three buildings.

The Dubai Holding company expects the homes to be ready for residents in 2028.

Metac’s contract covers basement construction, associated infrastructure and resident amenities, including swimming pools, play courts and a fitness centre.

The appointment represents a key construction milestone for Bay Grove Residences and supports Nakheel’s progress in developing the wider Dubai Islands destination.

Bay Grove Residences is planned as a contemporary waterfront community offering residential and leisure amenities.

Nakheel’s vision for the development brings together landscaped communal areas, walking and cycling routes, and access to Crystal Beach.

Once completed, the wider Bay Grove Residences community will comprise 1,154 homes across 15 residential buildings.

Plans are also in place for the remaining 617 homes across Phases 2 and 4, with further construction appointments expected to be announced in the coming months.

Dubai Islands is located off the coast of Deira and forms part of a master-planned waterfront destination aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

The destination comprises five islands and more than 20 kilometres of beaches, alongside planned open spaces, parks, golf courses, hospitality offerings, cultural hubs and waterfront residential communities overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
