Sheikh Zayed Festival 2026

The inaugural Sheikh Zayed Summer Festival is underway at Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi, extending the established Sheikh Zayed Festival beyond its traditional winter season.

Running from July 6 to August 23, 2026, the summer edition brings together education, innovation, heritage, health and family-focused activities. The programme places particular emphasis on young visitors and families.

Children and young people aged 6 to 18 can participate in skill-building activities designed to support learning and personal development. In addition, artificial intelligence and innovation workshops introduce technology-focused learning alongside cultural experiences.

The festival also offers indoor sports, health and fitness activities, heritage crafts and community-focused pavilions. Furthermore, specialist programmes encourage younger visitors and families to engage in educational and recreational activities.

Traditional culture remains central to the festival, with heritage crafts and community programmes connecting the summer activities with Emirati identity. The Al Wathba Dates Festival, scheduled from August 3 to 9, adds a seasonal cultural celebration to the wider programme.
