Toyota GR KART Brings Affordable Racing to Families
Toyota Gazoo Racing has introduced the GR KART, an entry-level racing kart designed to make motorsports more accessible to families. Priced at approximately $2,500, the kart reflects Toyota Motor Corporation chairman Akio Toyoda’s vision of making grassroots racing as accessible as baseball or soccer.
Its transportable design aims to reduce the logistical challenges traditionally associated with kart ownership, allowing families to enjoy racing without the overhead of professional circuits.
Adjustable Design for Family Use
Weighing 183 pounds, the GR KART features a 215-cc engine. Its tilting steering wheel and adjustable pedals allow multiple drivers to share the same chassis.
The kart is designed to accommodate drivers between 135 and 185 centimeters tall, making it suitable for a wide range of family members.
Easy Storage and Maintenance
The GR KART can fit inside the Toyota Noah and Voxy minivans without disassembly. Its specially developed fuel system and oil catch tank also allow the kart to be stored vertically without leaking gasoline or engine oil.

An advanced belt-drive system with an automatic tensioner eliminates chain maintenance and periodic adjustments, helping simplify ownership.
Toyota also offers a dedicated GR app with instructional material. Each purchase includes a digital driver’s passport that provides access to participating tracks without requiring a separate license.
Japan-Only Availability
The GR KART is currently available exclusively in Japan. Toyota distributes it through 36 kart tracks and seven official GR Garage locations across the country.
