Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Market Cap Reaches AED 2.8 TN in H1 2026
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) reached a market capitalisation of Dh2.8 trillion at the end of June 2026, as trading activity and international investor participation strengthened during the first half of the year.
Trading value reached AED 171 billion, while total traded volume increased 3.7% year-on-year to 50.3 billion shares. Meanwhile, average daily traded volume rose 9% to 423 million shares, and individual trades increased 12% to almost 3.3 million.
ADX Trading Activity Strengthens
Institutional investors accounted for 78% of total trading value, highlighting their continued importance to Abu Dhabi’s equity market. At the same time, net positive inflows reached AED 1.4 billion, representing a 13.7% increase from the previous year.
International investors accounted for 48% of total trading value. Conversely, UAE nationals increased their contribution by six percentage points to 52%.
The growth comes as the UAE’s broader equity market continues to expand. In June, the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) surpassed Dh1 trillion in market capitalisation for the first time.
DFM added approximately Dh103 billion in market value from the end of March, when its capitalisation stood at Dh897 billion. Strong financial results, foreign inflows and a series of initial public offerings supported the increase.
Foreign Investors Drive New ADX Registrations
ADX added more than 30,000 new investors during the first half, an increase of 7.1% year-on-year. Foreign investors represented 77% of new registrations, underscoring growing international interest in Abu Dhabi’s capital markets.
Total dividends distributed during the period also increased to AED 49.9 billion.
Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADX Group, said the exchange remained focused on building a deeper, more liquid and internationally connected market.
He said ADX continued to expand market access, strengthen infrastructure and introduce new solutions aimed at making participation easier for local and international investors.
ADX Expands Global Market Connections
ADX also strengthened its links with international financial institutions during the first half. HSBC became the exchange’s first foreign General Clearing Member, joining First Abu Dhabi Bank.
Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley became ADX’s first international remote trading participant. The exchange also expanded cross-border engagement through roadshows in London and Hong Kong.
ADX signed a Letter of Intent with Borsa Italiana and continued expanding the Tabadul hub. The Amman Stock Exchange joined the network, while ADIB Securities became the first UAE bank to join.
The exchange also added four new listings, including two dual-listed exchange-traded funds from the New York Stock Exchange. These listings broadened access to international assets through Abu Dhabi.
Additionally, rights issues by Sharjah Islamic Bank and Annan Investment Holding supported capital-raising activity.
The first-half figures underline the growing scale and international reach of Abu Dhabi’s capital markets. Rising liquidity, foreign participation, new listings and stronger market infrastructure are positioning ADX as an increasingly connected financial market within the UAE and the wider region.
