Dubai Metro Blue Line Set to Boost Dubai Creek Harbour and International City

The expansion of Dubai’s Metro network is expected to strengthen connectivity and support growth across two major communities: Dubai Creek Harbour and International City.

The Dubai Metro Blue Line is scheduled to open in September 2029, with construction having started in 2025. The 30km route will feature 14 stations and connect key areas across the emirate.

The new line will link Dubai International Airport with Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City 1 and 2, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City.

According to transaction and yield data from Allsopp & Allsopp, Dubai Creek Harbour and International City are among the communities expected to benefit significantly from improved Metro connectivity.

Dubai Creek Harbour

Dubai Creek Harbour has become one of Dubai’s prominent residential destinations, increasingly competing with established premium areas such as Dubai Marina and Downtown Dubai.

The community has repeatedly ranked among the top three areas for apartment transactions in Allsopp & Allsopp’s monthly reports throughout 2026.

The arrival of the Blue Line is expected to further strengthen Dubai Creek Harbour’s connectivity and accessibility across the city.

Its waterfront location and skyline views have already contributed to strong demand for new-build properties, while improved public transport could address one of the community’s existing connectivity challenges.

The Metro expansion is therefore set to provide residents and visitors with a new transport link while improving access to one of Dubai’s fastest-growing waterfront communities.
