UAE Regulator Reviews AIX Financial Over Missed Investor Payments

AIX Financial Consultations is facing a review by the UAE regulator following allegations that the investment firm failed to make payments to investors.

The Capital Market Authority (CMA) confirmed that it is reviewing the company’s activities but declined to disclose specific details. The regulator said confidentiality was necessary to ensure a thorough, fair and impartial assessment.

Legal proceedings have also been initiated against AIX Financial Group’s Cayman Islands affiliate, AIX Secure SPV, at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts.

The claim was filed by Carl Marcus Detloff, who alleges that AIX Financial failed to pay interest owed to him between June 2023 and August 2025.

Detloff argues that the alleged failure to comply with the terms of their agreement provides grounds for terminating the arrangement.

He is seeking the return of invested capital totalling £925,000, €240,000 and $309,692, in addition to unpaid interest and a further $900,000 that he claims is due under the agreements.

In a statement published on the AIX Investment Group website, AIX Secure SPV attributed the challenges to geopolitical uncertainty and continued volatility in global financial markets, which it said had significantly affected valuations and investment realisation timelines.

The company stated, “Following a comprehensive review, measures relating to the restructuring of the affected investments are now being taken forward under the direct oversight of management and subject to the applicable approvals.

“The aim is to protect value, maintain stability and determine the most appropriate path forward for affected investors.”

AIX said most of its investment products and their underlying assets had not been affected by the situation.

The company also maintained that it continues to fulfil its obligations to investors across those products and investments.

However, a report by the Financial Times said investors had filed claims seeking to recover approximately $10 million, including two individual claims valued at $2 million and $8 million.

Dubai-based AIX Investment Group, an international investment advisory firm, has reportedly suspended payments to thousands of investors after offering annual returns of up to 30 per cent.

The CMA said its review is being conducted within the scope of its regulatory mandate and in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
