2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A Revives the Original CJ-2A Spirit
More than 80 years after the end of World War II, Jeep is revisiting its civilian roots with the 2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A. The limited-edition model pays tribute to the original CJ-2A, which adapted the military Willys MB for civilian use on farms, ranches, and job sites.
The JL-2A is the 11th entry in Jeep’s “Twelve 4 Twelve” series, introducing a new limited-edition Wrangler every month for 12 consecutive months.
Heritage Styling With a Modest Premium
Based on the Wrangler Rubicon, the JL-2A package costs $4,995. That makes the fully equipped model just $115 more expensive than a similarly equipped Wrangler Rubicon.
The two-door edition is available in Gobi, inspired by the Harvest Tan color of the original CJ-2A. Other exterior colors include ‘41, Bright White, Sting Gray, Ghost, and Joose.

Every model features 17-inch Joose-painted retro wheels, referencing the Sunset Red wheels of the original CJ-2A. The wheels are paired with 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.
Orange tow hooks, a three-piece hardtop, body-color fender flares, and Dark Metallic Grey grille accents complete the exterior.
Archival Details Meet Modern Equipment
Inside, the JL-2A combines Heritage Tan Nappa leather, Bison Brown trim, and Desert Orange stitching. Heritage-inspired HVAC graphics, a Willys-Overland shifter medallion, and a serialized rear swing-gate plaque add to the vintage theme.

Despite its classic styling, the Wrangler includes modern equipment. Standard features include a front TrailCam with an integrated washer and the Convenience Group, which adds remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a universal garage door opener.
The JL-2A brings Jeep’s historic civilian beginnings into a modern Rubicon-based package without a significant price increase.
