Dubai’s ‘One Million Prompters’ Initiative Aims to Train the World’s Largest AI Workforce
Dubai has launched One Million Prompters, a global initiative designed to train one million people in AI prompt engineering over three years. Positioned as the world’s largest prompt-engineering training program, the initiative seeks to equip students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts with practical skills to work effectively with artificial intelligence.
Announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the program forms part of Dubai’s broader artificial intelligence strategy to strengthen digital capabilities, accelerate innovation, and prepare the workforce for an increasingly AI-driven economy.
Building AI Skills for the Future Economy
The initiative recognizes the growing importance of prompt engineering as artificial intelligence becomes integrated across industries. Rather than focusing solely on software development, the program aims to teach participants how to communicate effectively with AI systems to generate content, solve complex problems, automate workflows, and improve productivity.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that rapid technological progress is reshaping workforce requirements and creating demand for new digital skills.

The training program will include structured learning courses, accredited certifications, industry competitions, and networking opportunities designed to connect participants with experts across the global technology ecosystem.
Global Competition Reinforces Dubai’s AI Ambitions
The announcement coincided with the conclusion of the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, an international competition that attracted thousands of participants from nearly 100 countries. Thirty finalists from 13 nations competed across coding, literature, and art categories during the championship held at Dubai’s Museum of the Future.
Following the event, Sheikh Hamdan confirmed that future editions of the competition will expand to include additional categories such as software development and video creation, reflecting the rapidly growing role of generative AI across creative and technical industries.
The initiative also aligns with Dubai’s Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, which aims to accelerate AI adoption across government, business, and education. By investing in large-scale AI training and internationally recognized certifications, Dubai is positioning itself as a global hub for AI talent while preparing its workforce for the next generation of digital innovation.
