UAE Firms Face October 30 E-Invoicing Provider Deadline

UAE businesses with annual revenue of $13.6 million (AED 50 million) or more must appoint an accredited service provider (ASP) by October 30, 2026, and implement e-invoicing by January 1, 2027, according to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

Companies with annual revenue below $13.6 million must appoint an accredited service provider by March 31, 2027, and complete implementation by July 1, 2027. Non-compliance attracts an administrative penalty of AED 5,000 ($1,361) for each month or part of a month of delay.

The FTA’s initial compliance requirements apply to businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more. These companies must select and appoint an accredited service provider by October 30, 2026.

The same revenue group must implement e-invoicing by January 1, 2027. Businesses need to complete provider contracting, technical integration and the required procedures through EmaraTax, the FTA’s digital tax services platform.

The FTA advises businesses to complete the necessary preparations ahead of the regulatory deadlines. Selecting an accredited service provider is the first operational step, followed by contractual arrangements, technical integration and the completion of relevant EmaraTax procedures.

Companies should allocate sufficient time for provider selection, system integration and the required digital procedures to ensure readiness before mandatory implementation begins.

Businesses with annual revenue below AED 50 million have a later compliance window, with March 31, 2027, set as the deadline for appointing an accredited service provider.

July 1, 2027, is the final implementation date for these businesses. The phased rollout distinguishes companies by annual revenue, providing smaller enterprises with additional time to prepare for mandatory adoption.

During the pilot phase, the FTA assessed integration processes, user experience and operational readiness among participating businesses and service providers. The exercise was designed to evaluate system preparedness ahead of mandatory implementation.

The authority has also organised in-person awareness events across the UAE and virtual sessions for businesses. These sessions explain which entities fall within the system’s scope, connection procedures, implementation requirements and activation through EmaraTax.
